Setting Up Email on Samsung Galaxy
May 16, 20121. To Find “Email”
Tap Applications.

Tap Email.

2. Create new email account
If email accounts have been created already:
Tap the field at the top left corner of the display.

Tap the Menu key on the bottom left corner of your phone.
Tap Add account.

3. Enter email address
Tap account@example.com and key in your email address (such as name@provider.com).
4. Enter password
Tap Password and key in the password for your email account.
Tap Next.

5. Select option
If this image is displayed:
Follow steps 6 through 9.

If this image is displayed:
Follow steps 10 through 22.

6. Enter email account name
Tap the field below Give this account a name (Optional) and key in a name for your email account (such as Private or Work).
7. Enter sender name
Tap the field below Your name (Displayed on outgoing messages) and key in the required sender name.
8. Retrieve emails
Tap Done.
Wait while your mobile phone retrieves new emails.

9. Exit
Tap the Home key to return to standby mode.
10. Select server type
Tap POP3 account.

11. Enter username
Tap the field below User name and key in the username for your email account.
12. Enter incoming server
Tap the field below POP3 server and enter: mail.ingenuity.net.au as the incoming server.
13. Turn encryption of incoming emails on or off
Tap the drop down list below Security type.
Tap None.
14. Enter incoming port
Tap the field below Port and key in 110
15. Turn deletion of emails on server on or off
Tap the drop down list below Delete email from server.
Tap Never or When I delete from Inbox.
Tap Next.

16. Enter outgoing server
Tap the field below SMTP server and type: mail2.ingenuity.net.au as the outgoing server.
17. Turn off encryption of outgoing emails
Tap the drop down list below Security type.
Tap None.
18. Enter outgoing port
Tap the field below Port and key in 25025 or 2525
Tap Next.

19. Select setting for retrieving new emails
Tap the drop down list below Email check frequency.
Tap the required period.
Tap Next.

20. Enter email account name
Tap the field below Give this account a name (Optional) and key in a name for your email account (such as Private or Work).
21. Enter sender name
Tap the field below Your name (Displayed on outgoing messages) and key in the required sender name.

22. Retrieve emails
Tap Done.
Wait while your mobile phone retrieves new emails.
Windows Live Mail Email Settings and Configuration

Changing Outgoing SMTP Settings on iPhone
April 27, 20121. On the iPhone main screen, click on ‘Settings’.
2. Go into the ‘Mail, Contacts, Calendar’ section.
3. Click on the account you are having trouble with, then scroll down to the SMTP server and click on the address. This should bring-up a screen that has a Primary Server listed towads the top. Click on this.
4. Check the settings match with the ones below:
The Server option should be set to ‘On’
The Host Name is: mail2.ingenuity.net.au
User Name: your full email address
Password: your email password
Use SSL should be turned off
Authentication should be set to: Password
Server Port: 25025
You’re done! Your SMTP Settings are now updated.
Setting Up Email on Apple iPhone Device
February 28, 2011Below you will find the steps involved in setting up your email with Ingenuity, through your iPhone.
1. Click ‘Settings’
2. Click ‘Mail, Contacts, Calendars’
3. Click ‘Add Account…’
4. Click ‘Other’
5. Click ‘Add Mail Account’
6. Enter your name, email address, password and in the ‘description’ box, put the full email address then click ‘next’
7. Select ‘POP’
In the ‘Incoming Mail Server’ section, enter mail.ingenuity.net.au as the Host Name and then type your username and password
In the ‘Outgoing Mail Server’ section, enter mail2.ingenuity.net.au as the Host Name and then type your username and password
8. Click ‘save’
10. This will start the verification process on your account. It is not uncommon for a message to be displayed that says “Cannot Connect Using SSL…”. Click Yes when it asks if you would like to configure the account without SSL. This message will likely display twice.
The account verification process should now complete and either show a warning that there are potential issues and the account may not work, or it may take you back to the list of email accounts setup on the iPhone. This is fine as there are a couple more steps that need to be done to get everything working.
11. Click on the account you just created, then scroll down to the ‘Outgoing Mail Server’ section. Click on ‘SMTP server’ (which should read mail2.ingenuity.net.au)
12. Click on the Primary Server ‘mail2.ingenuity.net.au’ at the top of the list
13. Click on ‘Server Port’ and change it from the number 25 to 25025
14. Click ‘done’
15. Click the ‘Account Info’ button at the top of the screen and then click ‘done’ again
The account should now be configured and functional
Setting up Email on Your Apple Mac
February 28, 2011Firstly, take note of the general settings for the Ingenuity Mail Service.
Now, following the steps below, you can set up an Email account on your Apple Mac with Ingenuity.
1. Open Mail (find it on the Dock)
2. If the “Welcome to Mail” assistant does not appear, choose Add Account from the File menu.
3. Fill in the Full Name, Email address, and Password fields.
Note: Your email account password will be stored in Keychain to allow you to automatically log in to your email account when you open Mail.
4. Deselect “Automatically set up account” if it is enabled. Click Continue to proceed.
5. Choose the proper Account Type.
6. Give your account a useful description, such as “Anne’s Ingenuity account”. It can be called whatever you want.
7. Enter your Incoming Mail Server, User Name and Password. Click Continue to proceed.
8. If prompted, enter your Incoming Mail Security settings. Click Continue to proceed.
9. For Outgoing Mail Server, a useful description such as “Ingenuity Outgoing Mail Server”.
10. Enter the Outgoing Mail Server details.
11. If necessary, select “Use Authentication” and enter your User Name and Password. Click Continue to proceed.
12. If prompted, enter your Outgoing Mail Security settings. Click Continue to proceed.
13. Verify your settings in the Account Summary. Check “Take account online”. Click “Create” to complete the process.
After completing these steps you should be able to send and receive email via this account. If you can’t send or receive email, contact us for assistance.

Mozilla Thunderbird Email Settings and Configuration
February 28, 2011This tutorial will help you set up the Mozilla Thunderbird™ e-mail client to work with your e-mail account.
To Set Up Your E-mail Account in Mozilla Thunderbird
1. Open the Thunderbird client, and click on Tools > Account Settings…
2. Click on Account Actions > Add Mail Account…
3. Enter your details as requested, and click ‘Continue’
4. Click on ‘Manual config’
5. Enter the following settings;
- Incoming: POP3 – mail.ingenuity.net.au – 110 – STARTTLS – Autodetect
- Outgoing: SMTP – mail2.ingenuity.net.au – 25025 – None – No authentication
- Username: ‘Your email address”
Thunderbird will most likely gather the majority of this information automatically. Please refer to the image for the important changes that need to be made.
You may have to click ‘Re-test’ once, before clicking ‘Create Account’
6. If a warning appears, select the box that reads ‘I understand the risks’, and then ‘Create Account’
Your email is now set up with Mozilla’s Thunderbird.
Microsoft Outlook 2010 Email Settings and Configuration

To configure Microsoft Outlook:
1. Open Microsoft Outlook
2. Click on the “File” menu, click “Info” on the side bar, then click “Add Account” in the centre content.

3. Select the option for “Manually configure server settings or additional server types”.

4. Select “Internet E-mail”.

5. Enter the following information into the boxes on this screen:
User Information
Your Name: Type your name
E-mail Address: Type your email address
Server Information
Account Type: POP3
Incoming mail server (POP3): mail.ingenuity.net.au
Outgoing mail server (SMTP): mail2.ingenuity.net.au
Outgoing mail port (if necessary): 25025
Logon Information
User Name: Type your full email address
Password: Type your password (If you are unsure of this information contact via telephone: 1300 66 46 43 or email support@ingenuity.net.au)

6. Click on ‘More Settings’
7. On the Outgoing Server tab, tick the box that reads, ‘My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication. Make sure the radio button is selected > ‘Use same settings as my incoming mail server’

8. On the Advanced tab, make sure the incoming mail server is 110. Also make sure the outgoing mail server (SMTP) is 25025. If unsure, match the settings with the image below.

9. Click OK.
10. Click Next, and then Finish
Your Outlook is now set up.
Outlook Express Email Settings and Configuration

There are many ways to start Outlook Express, but here’s a sure-fire way to find and start it.
1. Click the Start button.
2. Point to All Programs.
3. Click Outlook Express.
These first three steps are shown in the image below:
Set Up an Outlook Express E-Mail Account
First, information about the e-mail servers
- The type of e-mail server you use: POP3
- The name of the incoming e-mail server: mail.ingenuity.net.au
- The name of the outgoing e-mail server: mail2.ingenuity.net.au
Second, information about your account:
- Your account name: Your email address
- Password: Assigned and sent to you by us
1. Start Outlook Express, and on the Tools menu, click Accounts.
If the Internet Connection Wizard starts up automatically, skip ahead to step 4.
2. Click Add, and then click Mail to open the Internet Connection Wizard.
3. On the Your Name page of the wizard, type your name as you want it to appear to everyone who gets e-mail from you, and then click Next.
Most people use their full name, but you can use any name—even a nickname—that people will recognize.
4. On the Internet Explorer Address page, type your e-mail address, and then click Next.
On the E-mail Server Names page, fill in the first block of information that you gathered from above and click Next.
5. On the Internet Mail Logon page, type your account name and password.
6. Click Next, and then click Finish.
You’re ready to send your first e-mail!
Note: Depending on the version of Outlook or Outlook Express you use; you may be prompted for additional settings. Click here to see a list of general email settings.

General Email Settings and Configuration Details
February 27, 2011When setting-up a new email account there are four general pieces of information you will need: Username, Password, Incoming Mail Server and Outgoing Mail Server. Your username and password will be provided when your account is setup. The server details are:
Incoming Mail Server: mail.ingenuity.net.au
Outgoing Mail Server: mail2.ingenuity.net.au
Outgoing Mail Port: 25025
