Web Hosting Features
Bandwidth / Data Transfer
In web hosting, bandwidth is defined as amount of data passing through a connection over a given time. Each time someone visits your website, their computer has to download a copy of that page (including all images and text on the page) in order for them to view it in their browser. If you have a busy site, it is important to have adequate bandwidth to enable your many visitors to view your pages.
As with disk space, some providers claim to offer more bandwidth than they are physically capable of providing.
Customer Service / Support
In any business, it is very important to provide the highest quality of customer service physically possible. Web hosting is no exception to this. Many of the hosting companies offer 24/7 support in case there is an emergency outside standard business hours, but there are some who are just available during specific hours of the day. You’re the one who is going to lose money if your website goes down in the middle of the night and your international customers are unable to contact you, so make sure you chose a host that you can contact 24/7.
Backup
It is important that you chose a web hosting company that provides a good backup schedule which archives all website and database information regularly. The more often the data is backed up, the better.
